The Low-Pressure Zone
We’re very pleased to announce the creation of a new 60-minute Saturday workout that integrates our popular technical clinics with a workout especially for swimmers who want to swim at a slower pace.
Coached by Susan Murray and Head Coach Scott Jordan, the Low-Pressure Zone will be held every Saturday at John Jay from 12:30 to 1:30, and it will feature:
- New-Swimmer Instruction
- Are you new to organized swim practices? Are you looking to learn the basics of how these things work? We’ll teach you everything you need to know in a relaxed, stress-free environment.
- Slower-Interval Sets
- The LPZ will offer workouts using a 1:50 pace per 100 yards or slower, appropriate for beginners or for more experienced swimmers who for whatever reason want to ease back on the throttle.
- Weekly Stroke Clinics
- The LPZ is the new permanent home of our technical clinics. These hour-long sessions will sharpen your skills and make your strokes, starts, and turns smoother and more efficient. Clinic topics will be announced in advance on our calendar, and registration will open at the beginning of each month. Send an e-mail to clinics@tnya.org to reserve a spot.
